Need for knowledge about dental and oral health :-
The majority of dental and oral health problem are caused due to carelessness and negligence towardsthe dental problems and oral hygiene.
Bad practices such as chewing tobacco, gutka , areca nuts as well as smoking cigerrette etc cause increased incidence of various oral and dental health problem.
It is necessary to have some knowledge and awareness about proper dental care and keeping goodoral hygiene to raise living standard in the community.
Research in medical and dental health has resulted dramatic improvement in the medical and dental field. However there is much big population is unaware of what is dental care and what is oral health about.
What is Health and oral health :-
Health is not merely absence of disease or pain.
According to WHO Definition, “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well being and notmerely the absense of disease or infirmity.”
In same manner Oral or Dental Health is also not merely absense of any oral disease but it is complete physical, mental and social well being.
That is why its important to provide health education in community, motivation of individual and community for receiving dental services for their well being.
